Cheetah hunt ⚠️ Graphic content

When we were on a game drive in the Masai Mara, our guide heard over the radio that a group of five cheetahs had started to stalk a large herd of wildebeest. This group of five is well-known in this part of the world, and apparently is a unique grouping - there are often teams of two or three males who will hunt together, but they will be related. What makes these guys special is that are not all related to each other, and must have banded together for some other reason. They certainly make a formidable partnership - they managed to take out a very large bull wildebeest that a single cheetah would have had no chance of killing - even with five of them it took nearly twenty minutes to finish it off. When a small group of hyenas turned up to try to get some of the meat, they were sent firmly packing by the group; again something that a solo cheetah would not dare attempt. Here’s my record of the action.
