Elephants

One of our drivers said to us “the lion is the king of the jungle, but the elephant is the king of the beasts”. When you get close to these animals you can see why - nothing prepares you for their sheer size when you’re only 10 yards away and there isn’t a nice strong fence between you and them. We saw a huge variety of groupings, from small herds of 4-5 individuals up to much larger numbers together, and every so often a solitary animal standing out against the horizon.
